Each Sunday, I have the pleasure of sharing an encouraging word with the members of The Church. In my study time and meditation, I compile a series of scriptures that identify who we are and who we should be. The goal is to redefine our outlook and change the way we operate day to day. The transforming and renewing of our mind is accomplished by the intentional continuous application of the Word of God. Please take these words, apply them to your life and by all means, share it! Be encouraged Church!

PS. Although these scriptures are from the KJV, the tense and pronouns

may have  been changed to make it personal

Who Are We?

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

We will be like minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

We will let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind, each of us will esteem others better than ourselves.

We will let this mind be in us, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

 And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:

 That at the name of Jesus every knee (INCLUDING OURS) should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

And that every tongue (INCLUDING OURS) should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

 We will work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

 For it is God which works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

 We will do ALL things without murmurings and disputings:

 That we may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom we shine as lights in the world;

 Holding forth the word of life.

 (Repeat out loud)

  • I will be like minded with my brethren, having the same love, being of one accord & of one mind;

  • I will let nothing be done through strife or vainglory;

  • I will esteem others better than myself;

  • I will let this mind be in me, which was also in Christ Jesus;

  • At the name of Jesus my knee will bow & my tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord;

  • I will work out my own salvation with fear and trembling;

  • It is God which works in me both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

And we will do this because...................

WE ARE THE CHURCH!
